Rental Assistance Demonstration Program Notice

February 11th 2019

You are invited to a Public Housing resident meeting to talk about the Missoula Housing Authority’s plans to convert its public housing units from the public housing program to Section 8 rental assistance under the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD).  Two meetings are currently scheduled.  You are welcome to attend the one that best fits your schedule, or attend both.  The meeting information is:

February 26, 2019
12:00 p.m.
Missoula Public Library Large Meeting Room
301 East Main, Missoula, MT 59802

March 26, 2019
5:30 p.m.
Missoula Housing Authority Board Room
1235 34th Street, Missoula, MT 59801

RAD is a voluntary program run by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  Under RAD, HUD will change the way it provides rental assistance to the property from public housing to a long-term Section 8 assistance contract.  The Section 8 program would make it easier for us to access money to repair and improve the property, either now or in the future. Please find more information here.
